2003 Deville Fuel and Brake lines
On my 2003 Deville, some of the brake lines are badly rusted and I'll probably have to replace them soon (lots of road salt in winter where I live). What it formed on the ends on the ends of the brake lines? Is it a double-flare? a bubble-flare? Other?
Also - I was going to replace the fuel filter, but the inlet line and fitting that screws into the filter is badly rusted and will probably twist the line and break it when I try to unscrew it. I tried PB blaster, but still badly stuck., and line is rusted into the fitting. What kind of end does that line have? Single flare? Double flare? Bubble-flare? Other? The line is not rusted a few inches back from the filter. Any reason I can't cut it, and replace just a short piece of line and put in a double-flare union -fitting?
In the past, I've borrowed a specialty flare tool, but if that's what it needs, I may buy one this time.
I've used the 'easy to bend' copper-nickel brake line for brake and fuel lines on other vehicles. Any reason I can't use that on the Deville?
Can I use the part at the link below to replace the fuel line connector for the filter inlet? or is this made for the fuel rail connection?

Update: The fitting on the fuel filter inlet line is a ridge all the way around set back slightly with an O-ring on it. The 3/8 inch tube Dorman part I put a link to in my original post above comes with one end formed like that and the O-ring on it. The tubing needs to be bent with a tubing bender to make it fit the car, and then cut to the desired length to mate it to a solid piece of existing fuel line coming from the tank. A double compression union fitting also comes with that part to make that connection. That is exactly what was needed!
I haven't tackled my badly rusted brake lines yet and they haven't yet started leaking; so I don't know if they are double flare, bubble flare, or what on the ends. I've been told the copper-nickel line that is easy to bend will work fine.
