Post 2002 DTS DeVille Possible Solenoid Issue

Hey, have a 2002 DTS. Beauty car etc loaded with nav and night vision, white diamond on cashmere etc, but the transmission gets skippy and like I've read it up and I think it's the solenoid but I'd just like to make sure before I buy the part. Solenoid's a cheap part and everything I just wanna make sure. I'll be driving and 1st, 2nd is fine, but usually in third it'll act like it's holding in a clutch or going into neutral or something, it's annoying during driving as I'm either accelerating or coasting basically. The speedo says 0 but my rpms stay the same and are accessible from accelerating -- I'm pretty sure it's the solenoid. Because my gas mileage is also down, which I read online is caused by the solenoid. Any info is appreciated!
Cheers

I have a 2002 Deville Base, which is basically a "weaker" engine than yours, and my engine codes are also saying TCC Solenoid. The good news is, it's a cheap part. The bad news, it requires the removal of the engine to replace. There's a mechanic on YouTube who does it in a few hours, but you're working with a very small space, about the width of your finger. Worst case scenario is it could be the Torque Converter, because the symptoms are similar. As a transmission specialist told me, replacing just the TCC Solenoid may help, but it's best to find out WHY the solenoid failed.

Default worth a try....

My 92 eldo. was doing the same thing,my mechanic suggested using a product called shudder stop, you add it to the transmission, it worked for me,
I don't really believe in additives, but I think it did the trick,it loosened things up.
