2001 Deville Key Fob Anti Theft Issue / Questions
Hello, I have a 2001 DeVille base model and I am having a problem with the key fobs. We had a very bad monsoon storm that had hail and heavy rain. The wind was such that it took down mature trees and created sideways rain. After the storm, the key fobs no longer work. I have replaced the batteries, run codes (only a blend door and level ride exhaust), and disconnected the battery for an hour just to see if that would reset whatever module controls the key fob. Which brings me to my main question: what module does the key fob communicate with? Does anyone have any advice, I can open the doors and turn off the alarm by turning the key and waiting till the doors unlock and the car seems to run fine, I would just like to have the remotes work. I have a spare PCM module that I purchased and had programmed to this vehicle, it was in the car for a while when trying to fix an theft system issue, but it did not cure the problem, so I put the original back, the crank sensor has also been set on the replacement. Thank you for any and all help, Rich
