Default 1990 deville - rear air shocks question

Do these wear out like a normal shock does?

Mine are pretty busted looking. and as far as I know the air system is leak free or mostly leak free cuz the air compressor doesn't seem to run excessively.

what about converting the air ride?

checked out strut masters and they want almost 400 for the "conversion kit"

but on rock auto you can get springs and shocks for "non air" 90 deville for much cheaper.

whats the difference?

I bought rear air shocks for my 95 seville from arnott. At 150,000 miles they were worn out. Driving over a bump the rear end would bounce excessively. Im going to buy the front one's soon, as I'm sure they are worn to. I looked at arnotts website and the oldest deville they list is a 94. I dont know if they are the same for a 90 or not but you could give them a call, heres the website. http://www.arnottindustries.com/

thx for the link. Yeah you should see what my shocks look like the outer tube is bent from where it has bottomed out.

rockauto has some monroe air shocks for like 80 each (IIRC). the only thing that worries me is getting an air leak or the air compressor dying. new air compressor is like 200 bucks. and i dont feel like chasing air leaks.

but then again staying air keeps it simple and you dont have to worry about getting parts that wont work.
