Trailer hitch wiring...
Hi!
How do the taillights actually work? On my CTS 2008 3,6 AWD sport luxury (EU-spec) im trying to add a trailer hitch, and with that wiring for this. I bought a vehicle specific harness (Tekonsha Part No 118466) and it just does not give me any turnsignal. So I start investigating... I have the shop manual so after a while i figured out that the turn-signal is CANbus activated, and that there is a small circut in the taillight that reads CAN hi and lo, and feeds the LEDS accordingly.
So - my question - has anyone ever got the harness (Tekonsha Part No 118466) to work on their Cadillac?
Or are there different versions, depending on trim-level, EU-spec or something?
Or is this incorrectly marked as compatible (the connectors fit perfectly - no worries there)?
As far as i can see in the shop manual for my car - ALL models have the same wiring and logic for the taillights... Which is also proven by the TPMS-system - When you set it, the car lights up one turn-signal at the time (LF, RF, RR, LR) and that could not happen with "normal wiring", right? And isnt that standard on ALL CTSs?
Im at loss here, help....
