Why does the threaded rod that holds the sparetire secure stick 1" above the flat surface of the trunk? Not sure if we took it off once and something is missing,I took it apart and there appears to be no adjustment. Please tell me that they couldn't have designed it that way ! Nothing like something protruding up in the exact center of your trunk.
