Where is the oil filter located on a 2008 CTS with the base engine? Is the filter easily assessable?

 

Well, on an 05 with the 3.6 V-6 it is accessable from under the hood, on the drivers side next to the engine cover. Its a small aluminum cylinder with a 24 mm hex head cover. You unscrew the cover, remove and replace the filter element and screw the cover back on. I believe the 2.8 L engine is the same.
