When I bought my 05 CTS last yearI was surprised to learn that the automatic transmission was an extra cost option and the manual was the standard transmission. (I don't know whyI was surprised. It makes perfect sense.)Since then I'vechecked every CTS I've come across and they all have automatics,including mine, of course.
My question, does anybody out there have a V-6 CTS with the 5 speed manual transmission and did you have to special order it that way? I know the "V" s come with a manual. I really wish mine had a manual transmission. I'm curious as to howrare that option would be.

Manuals are out there, I have scene a few. They are uncommon at the same time; most Cadillac dealers will not order cars with manual transmissions, since most of their customers will not buy them. CTS-V is the exception automatic is not offered, if it was I'm sure the 6 spd would be hard to find.

 

I have an 05 3.6 with 6sp manual it was a pain to find one with a stick and the 3.6 (lots of 2.8) and fully loaded to boot. but it was worth it I love the car it's a lot of fun to drive. they are out their but it took me about 3 months to find mine and I had to drive 100 miles to get it.

 

Sweet. I'm going to start my next car search a little early and look for one with a manual. Maybe I'll even step up to a "V". What with gas the way it is now! Thanks for the reply, I jealous! Mike.
