well my 07 CTS is in for another rear diff!! This is now the fourth one and mine is the 2.8 so how does a 3.6 or V go without destroying them? These are complete new drop in's not rebuilt ones and all within a month.

we had assumed that the differentials broke .. no mention of howling before.

take another one for a test ride, same kind of tires .. tires are more likely to howl than rear ends.

pontiac Soltice has the same diff and the same problems of howling and some locking up and throughing the car into a full lock up and putting people in xtream life threataningsituiations.all of these diffs should be recalled and someone is going to get killed.

Here is the link..http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/pon...RHAS35VTB9PL1G
It is about the Solstice with the same diff as the CTS, if you read the 4th post you will see that the rear diff locked up sending the car into a tailspin, then the 8th post talks about the CTS using the same diff and a new beefier rear diff.
Here is another link to a CTS site about the diffs...http://reardiff.jon04ctsv.com/
