Post Check Engine Light Still There After Suspension Work

Good Morning Everyone:

2007 Cadillac CTS
145,000 miles

I recently had suspension work, having the front and rear struts replaced and a wheel alignment. Before that repair, I had no check engine light.
But, within that week I heard a noise coming from the back of the car that became louder after that week.

So, on my way to the service station the damn check engine light shows up.
It turned out that I needed the rear wheel bearings replaced. I had this done on the 17th, and since then, the check engine light is still lit up.

At times, I smell something, maybe something burnt or bad oil. Does anyone know if a transmission fluid fill would remedy this or is the problem, as I am currently at an 11% fluid life?

Has anyone experienced this, or should I expect/wait for it to disappear? This is pissing me off because I had all that work done and the light shows up late in this month--when I'm due for inspection.

Please advise.

None of the work you had done should cause a check engine light to illuminate. Go to an auto parts store and have them read the code (or codes) for you, then post them.
