Yes I have done a search and have seen similar threads but not quite what I am looking for, I am a mechanic, a customer owns a 2003CTS manual trans and the timing belt broke and destroyed the valves. If anyone knows where a reman engine can be bought that would be the ideal solution however from everything I have found it appears no one rebuilds them and the customer does not want a used engine.

Are there any other engines that can be swapped in relatively easy, not just another 3.2 to ls6 post and have seen that the 3.6 is not even a straightforward swap. Another option the customer is not opposed to is a carburated 350 (to avoid and electrical issues)

The depreciation of value is not a concern as he plans to have the car until it no longer is street worthy.
