Default 06 CTS V 19" wheels and tires

I'm looking to put on some 19X8.5" front and rear. There's not much out there to reference from what I could find. I can see some have put on 20 and 22" but complain of rubbing. Not interested in how GREAT they look, but rather the increase performance and trouble -free ride. Namely, not changing fender flares, wheel-wells, etc... This is strictly a street car with no track time. I want to put on 255/40R 19 tires but am ambiguous about the answers I get from tire/wheel places. Any comments, suggestions? Should I be concerned about a correct offset? The car also only has the upgraded GM peformance shocks. Many thanks. InfraredV

offset is every thing... the best offset for any wheel on this car is +40mm... the on a 19 inch rim u should put 45 profile tires.
