Default 03 CTS head unit

I'm thinking about buying an 03 CTS. But it's missing the head unit, and TCM unit, and it won't start. I was told by the seller that someone broke into the car and stole those parts along with the rear side air bags. How do I know witch head unit came in the car? Or does it matter?

It sounds more like a parts car at this point. IMO PASS... once you collect the missing parts will it be a useable car?

So as far as I know yes it will be usable. But it wont start right now because of the missing TCM and head unit supposedly.

Or is that incorrec? Should I be able to start the car at least without the TCM and head unit installed? I really like the car and will only be paying $1200 for it. But I just want to make sure I'm not just throwing money away.

Would I be able to program them myself or would I have to take it to a dealer****?
