Default "Service Stability System"

I have a 2003 cts with 65000 miles and my stabilty system light came on so i took it to the dealer and they told me it was my STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR so they called up my extended warranty company and they said they wouldnt cover that so i guess the main point here im trying to get is Does any one know how to replace the sensor?? please help

It's at the base of the steering column.
The column needs to come out of the car in order to replace it.
