Depends on if you want to do the repair yourself, or have it done.
The solenoid "kit" isn't all that expensive....around $60 or so. Then you have the fluid you'll need to replace.
If you take it to a shop, it will most likely be in the $400 and up range to have this done, IF that's all it needs.

Default Still having problems after changing the shift soleniods

My 95 Eldorado is having the same problem. I ordered the replacement kit and replaced both soleniods along with the bracket as one of them were cracked. After carefully reassembling everything, the car is still not shifting out of 2nd and the service engine light comes on. did we do something wrong, or is there anything else we can check?

Sorry, I can't help you. When I replaced the solenoids (one were cracked) everything worked out perfect.
Hopefully Adams Apple can help you out...

Anybody got a diagram of the check ball positions on the 4T80-E
I have developed the same issue as "elliot@c21.net"
Got the repair kit yesterday.
I am a bit Leary of pulling the valve body without having a check ball position diagram.
Are they gonna just fall out?
Trying to get a transmission service manual for her..
I have a 1995 pearl white Eldorado ETC..
Anyone with any info would help...
Thanks....
