Cool 96 Eldorado Cooling Problem

I own a 96 Eldorado with 110,000 miles. Recently, I noticed that the car was overheating and when I checked the coolant level it was down about 1\2 liter. I added coolant and checked again and was low again. I have no water in the oil and no white exhaust smoke so I don't know where the coolant is going. Apparently I have a blown head gasket. Does anyone have any experience with Steel Seal or Thermagasket? I would try one of these problems if they work, much better than $3000 to replace gaskets. Thanks for your help.

Unhappy Coolant problem

Hello, I have the same car as you with about 100,000 on it and I had the exact same problem. As you know, the car is packed with power. Unfortunately Cadillac decided to go all aluminum not to mention a FWD for a sports car. Long story short, I found out that my block was cracked and thats why i was loosing my coolant. Yes it is possible that you have a blown head gasket as again, we're working with all aluminum parts. Your best bet is to just replace the gasket if you can to save further trouble. I ended up replacing the entire motor in my car with a total of around $6,000. I should have sold the car. Good luck!!
