83/85 4100 differences

Default 83/85 4100 differences

ok so i have a 83 sedan deville with the 4100 and i just got a 85 fleetwood today with the 4100 in it from looking i can see the throttle body differences and the alternator differences are there any others? also is there any way to put the 85 alternator on the 83? also what all would i need to do to make it start just get gas in it and power? or is there something id have to else id have to do? i dont need it to run in the car i just need to know if its worth saving. I got the car for the wheels and the steering column/locks

it depends on the casting date of the block.

i believe that sometime in '84/'85 the casting design changed to rid the 4100 of the notorious failures. for sure, the '86 4100 were all of the redesigned types and the failures all but stopped.

most likely the '85 engine is better designed than the '83 you got now.

well i have a 83 and a 85 outside and im wondering what all like accessories and everything will bolt up to my 83 off the 85
