i was wondering, how many members of this site even

before this group landed here two weeks ago,
my guess is about 3 ?

This could be a good poll question, since there were so few made and not many left.
Okay, let's have it. Without doing a quick google how many members here know anything about the Italian Caddy?

RE: ever heard of an Allante ?
I believe only the bodies were Italian. Pininfarina, Ferrari'sfamed coach builder made the bodies in Italy. Chassis from Detroit got loaded on a specially prepared 747 or someother huge plane modified for the purpose and flown to Italy where the two were marriedtogether and then flown back to the the USA. Like most Cadillacs I believe they were finally assembled at Hamtramck, Cadillac's Detroit production facilities. They were two seaters and V8 powered. I believe that the 4.1, 4.5 and Northstar found there way into the car. Cadillac wanted to provide a competitor to the Mercedes SL and re-establish itself as a marque of distinction. The car was in pruduction from 1988 up until 1993 I believe. That's from my memory bank. If you let me go the web I can fact check it all and be perfect.
The better question is does anyone remember a similar high end Buick, the Reatta?
