Default air ride

hi, when driving with a lot of weight in car (5 pass + luggage ) car loses air in suspension and air pump won't go on to refill air struts. so I bring car to stop & restart car, wait a few seconds and air ride pump gos on car levels and start driving. 10 minutes later same thing. i figure theres a leak when lots of weight but should the air pump go on to compensate. also air does not leak out when not a lot of weight or sitting over night. any ideas. thanxs

Your right sounds like leak. Visually look at air lines and rear shocks. You can spray soapy water on them and look for leaks. Disconnect level ride sensor arm, be carefull not to break sensor or link, and raise. With key in run compressor should come on, lower it to turn compressor off, and all the way down bleeds air out of shocks.

The pump will shut off with a leak present to protect the pump from over heating. Turning the key back on and sometimes putting the car in reverse will re cylce the motor to run again, until again it senses a leak. do what slowroll said. Get a bucket of soapy water and something like a 4 in. paint brush and soak the lines looking for an air bubble to form.
