Default 1996 eldo torque conv slip hear something in dash?

My 96 eldorados' torque converter seems to engage and disengage from time to time. I hear something electrical engage or a spinning type sound under the dashboard every time. Could this be something besides the converter?

Strange description. What does "I hear something electrical engage" mean? You can hear relays/solenoids click, or static on the audio system, but that's about it.
We need more info...

Yes maybe relay or solenoids. Noticed it starts just after warming up ( maybe a two mile drive ). This is odd too, if I engage the cruise at 25 it stops even if I control throttle above that speed ( the noise and in and out shift stop ). Cruise control engaged stops the in and out shifting everytime basically. If I don't engage cruise it does always shift in and out with a little bump, Very wierd. Could there be a solenoid that is locking up the torque convertor when cruise is engaged but not locking up when cruise is off. Thanks.

Sounds like maybe your brake switch either needs adjusting, or replacement. You should have two different brake switches, but it may only be one. The cruise control runs thru the brake switch, as does the lock-up signal, so when you press on the brake pedal, lock-up and cruise dis-engages. With cruise activated, the signal takes a different path, which may explain why it works with cruise, but not without. Worth a shot.

Thank you, sounds like you got it. Would this be something easy to find myself? Could you post a picture or video? Who would do it cheapest if I'm not able? Thanks again you are great!

No pic, but I do have this, and a pic of what the switch should look like.

Thanks again. You mentioned there are two brake switches or was that two paths through one switch? The cruise route is the one that works. I'm a litle confused sorry.

It could be either way....I'm not sure on your particular car. It may have just one switch with two different "paths", or it may have two different switches.

Also...sorry for the delays in my responses....I don't get to this site very often....I stay pretty busy on many others! LOL!
