Earlier today, the letter was at $851,000.

This letter has been getting a lot of play on the net.
Limbough is not that charitable type of guy unless he sends the check to the charity from an anonymous donor.
He won't be paying income tax for a lot of years and the guys making the bids are doubling his charitable contribution at no cost to himself.

In my eyes the value of this is not what Rush is or is not. One cannot buy this kind of
media coverage for that kind of money. Rush may be taking advantage of the poor
judgement of the Senators, so be it. We live in a country of opportunity.
The value is on what the Senators had the audacity to attempt.
It was before my time but all this reminds me of the history lessons about the McCarthy era.
I may be off, maybe you can enlighten us to the level of accuracy of what I said.
I can only go by what was in the text books we were provided.
BTW, I voted for some of the Senators that signed that letter. Today, I would not repeat that error.

The organization getting the money is a legitimate charity!
Rush would be an idiot not to hand this paperwork over to his tax man at year's end.

After all, the charity is getting the money, Limbaugh gets to send the Senate leadership up for over a week ... everybody's happy!

I would like to read the "text" of what Limbaugh" said on the radio that prompted this letter. Far as I can find, Rush has not published this. I would like to see if I would interpret it "out of text?"

I know I have seen the scrip of the Rush comments with the "phony soldiers". I will see if if I can dig them up.

Rush isn't all that benalifiant kind of guy.
He is using this whole thing for his benefit as I see it, and it won't cost him a dime. (just the reversal)
Of course, differant thoughts for differant folks.

the remarks Limbaugh made two weeks ago to a show caller about antiwar troops. The caller said, "What's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media," according to a transcript of the Sept. 26 show.
"The phony soldiers," Limbaugh replied.
Limbaugh says that his comment was taken out of context and that he was referring to one man, Jesse MacBeth, who claimed to have fought in Iraq and received a Purple Heart when in fact he was discharged after 44 days. On Friday's show, he called the situation the "phony-soldiers smear."

I was talking about a genuine phony soldier. And by the way, Jesse MacBeth's not the only one. How about this guy Scott Thomas who was writing fraudulent, phony things in The New Republic about atrocities he saw that never happened? How about Jack Murtha blanketly accepting the notion that Marines at Haditha engaged in wanton murder of innocent children and civilians?
