I am thinking about purchasing a 1960 series 62 2door and it needs some work. New floors front rear and in the trunk. I can get it for around 3k and was just wondering if that was a good price. It runs and drives 72,000 original miles all original car. I would be doing all the work myself so that would cut out having to pay someone. It would be to resell so my question is are these cars somthing that people look for it would I be wasting my time. IV done some research and they seem to be a pretty saught after car. Was just hoping to get some personal input from other people on their thoughts. Thank you and God bless.

You can check values online to get a ballpark figure. Also look on eBay motors for similar examples, but the harsh reality is that the car is only worth what someone wants to pay for it. You could turn over a large profit or none at all. Doing work yourself will reduce overhead and increase your profit margin, but there is no guarantee. Best of luck to you!

It depends on your skills. Replacing floor pans is a little bit of a chore, fortunately patch panels are available. It depends on condition of body and interior. If you have to paint it, you will need nearly a show quality paint job to get real money. Short cutting normally get you nothing because buyer often know he will have to redo it and want to lower offer. You could try to flip it prior to rehabbing it, just clean it up and make sure everything works.

When checking ebay for prices, best check ONLY cars that in fact sold. Sales alone are the best indicator of what the market is willing to pay.

Another problem I see raising its head is what will the market be doing when you are ready to sell? In other words, how long will it take for you to complete the work and have the car ready for market? That could also be a factor worth considering.
