1986 Cadillac Engine Swap

Ok, I know from reading other forums that I will receive fire for what I am about to ask. I have a 327 sbc that I want to swap for the 307 that is in it. I would like to know what i may be facing when I do the swap. What am i going to have to do besides the mounting. Any help would be appreciated

The transmission bellhousing is likely going to be a bit of an issue. Generally transmission had BOP Buick Pontiac Olds patterns and Chevy had its own. Have you considered using an Olds 350 or 403 engine?

I have thought about it, but i already put the money into the sbc, and with the research that i have done, I'll be working with a dual pattern bell housing

If its a computer controlled carb, you may have to delete the computer if you're looking to go with a more performance oriented carb. What are your goals for the car? Sounds like a sweet build!

It wasn't a compu carb, and it started right up with very little issues. The transmission was no issue as it was a 200-4r, so it fit. the car sounds nice and loud, i have been working on the tranny and now have gotten the full vehicle working.

Glad to hear!! hopefully you get a lot more power from the swap! I know the 307 can be quite anemic, especially in a car over 4,000 lbs!
