NY State inspection

Hi. My 02 DTS will not pass inspection because the NYS equipment is not reading the RPMs in the car. The dealer thought is was a faulty ground but that has been eliminated. The dealer's machine can read the RPMs but not the inspection machine. It is reading others cars RPMs so it isn't the machine. The dealer is baffled and they think it could be a broken wire, diagnostic tin is getting too expensive. Any thoughts? The dealer is saying there are no error codes.

I would try a different shop. RPM would be on Data stream If GM equipment reads RPM and State equipment won't; it's seems it would be a configuration issue

2ndshop

Hi. I did try a second shop. I originally took the car to my independent mechanic that I use for my other autos and he had the same problem. I thought perhaps it was the equipment. He had the same problems. It read emission all is good, but it won't read the RPMs.
