"Service Suspension System" -- onboard computer message
Hi,
I have a 2001 Seville STS. It has low use with only 65,000 miles. Just last week, I an auto repair garage fixed a number of things: (1) replaced A/C compressor (2) replaced front motor mount (3) replaced valve cover gasket (4) replace power steering pressure hose Now, immediately after the repair, the onboard computer is sending up the message on the dash, "service suspension system." This message never came up before - not once. Does anyone have any ideas on whether or not: (a) some of the repair work could have led to this problem? (b) or what the problem may be? Thanks in advance for any of your ideas, suggestions, help. John Williams |

Service Suspension Code
John, what did you find out about your message? I had mine serviced today with motor support replaced and now the message is on.
Thanks, Doug |
Without codes, it's hard to point to a specific cause, but my guess would be someone messed with, or otherwise created a problem with one of the suspension sensors by the passenger side front wheel. The A/C compressor is in the same general area, and the wiring to the sensor may have been moved/damaged while working on the A/C system. The P/S hose replacement would be on the other side(driver side), also, as it would run across the front of the frame from the pump to the rack.
