service stability sys prompt

I recently bought my first caddy,a '01 DHS from a friend. It has just over 62,000. mi. (about 3,500 mine). The SERVICE STABILITY SYS prompt has come on several times. Initially, I thought it was due to improper tire pressures, but it still comes on ocasionally. It seems to handle OK...but it does wallow compared to my old Toyota Highlander. When I clear the prompt, it does not come back on right away, maybe every week or so (once when I made a jerky motion in a parking lot to avoid a mishap.)Has anyone had a similar situation? What is the indicated solution, cost and can it be fixed by an independent shop? I welcome your comments.
