1991 cadillac V8

I have a 1991 cadillac brougham it has the 5.7L in it and I am going to put the engine in a 2002 chevy S-10 and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to find out if the engine in the cadillac is a chevy engine or if it is a buick, pontiac, or cadillac. I am also told that it is a detuned LT1 not sure though. If the engine is a chevy engine it will bolt right into my truck if not I need to get all new brackets. So if any one could help me with this information it would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 1991 cadillac V8

All smallblocks (RWD V8 engines for that matter)in the GM cars for the 90s should be Chebbys no matter what since I think olds-Bui-Ponti-cadillac discontinued their RWD V-8s in the 80s. Not exactly sure on the year though, it could have been 1990 (at the latest probably)for all I know when some ofthe V-8s of othergm companiesstopped productionso don't quote me on this. But yeah the transplant should be easy considering its Chevy to Chevy.
