K & N Kit

Well,

I finally got a K & N kit on the truck this past weekend. They claim the system gets a little over 15 RWHP (I can't remember the torque numbers), but when I accelerated, it felt like a lot...

RE: navigation upgrade

Sorry, I can't help you on any equipment you'll need to buy. Mine has the stock navigation, but if didn't, I would compare the price of a stock unit versus an aftermarket type because the aftermarket...

RE: Recommended Rim Size

I think they're 20's on stock Escalades. I'd go to 24's probably. 26's are probably too rough, and I don't know if they'll fit!

RE: low speed stalling

Sorry, I've never had that problem in the EXT, but a similar problem in an Exporer. In that car, when I slowed down to a stop, it would die on me, but would only require a re-start. I had thought the...

RE: Wheel hop on a 2005 CTSV

twm242: My vette didn't have wheel hop in stock form, but after the turbos were added, it hops like heck. I don't know what I could do about it, but I've learned just to accelerate gradually without...

RE: CTS-V exhaust ?!?!

I doubt you'll get enough replies on this subject. There does not seem to be a whole lot of people modifying cars. They seem to be trying to fix them! Anyways, I have a two tip Borla on the Z06...

RE: New EXT Owner

I don't sense any wiggle at freeway speeds. It rides just fine, comparable to the ride quality of a car. It'll "wiggle" when you're driving on rutted roads because the tires are so wide, but that'll...

RE: Dents

I have gotten them displaced back and fixed. They have the paintless dent repair here, and they even come to your place of business to get it done. It took only an hour too.

(It ain't that easy...

RE: Headlight Washer Problem... I Think!?

Sorry, that problem has never happened to me, and it appears, no one else either. That would really irritate me too. I would bring the dealership manager to a garage to show him the problem, and...

RE: Painted & Tinted Tail Lamps

Cool. Looks great. It's always the little things that set a car off to making it look different.

RE: splash guards...finally

I bought the set from the dealership. The rears are molded and designed specifically for the truck. The fronts are semi-molded, and are for a wide variety of applications, but you just have to make...

RE: Painted & Tinted Tail Lamps

It looks good. It's very reminiscent of the 70's signature rear tail lights. Upright, and like a slit. How about a broader view picture?

RE: 1 to 4 slip shift

The skip feature was eliminated in my Corvette's computer when they tuned it. If you can't find the plug-in type, you could probably find a tuner to remove it.

RE: 2003 Deville "Service Tire Pressure Monitor"

I had this message on my EXT. Took it to the dealership and one of the tire pressure monitors was going bad, so they replaced it.

RE: 07 Escalade Fuel Economy

I get 12 MPG in the city, and close to 16-17 on the freeway, but that's looking at my history on the computer. I haven't actually measured it by determining miles driven versus how many gallons used,...

RE: Problem free & just enjoying your car?

Yes, you're right that Caddy was the forefront of some technology. However, you should realize Corvettes get break-thru technology as well. Examples:

Hydroformed rails to form the backbone of...

Problem free & just enjoying your car?

I have a question for the members of this forum:

It seems that every post is about some problem with their Caddy.

It prompts me to wonder, "Are Caddy's just very problematic, and not built...

splash guards...finally

Okay, I've added splash guards to the truck. The splash guards still don't completely cover the 305 wide tires, but it helps a lot.

RE: I hate/love you guys

Like I say, it's the little things. If you look at MJDart's ride, you know something is different, but you're not sure. You know it looks good, but not being a CTS owner, I can't tell what makes it...

RE: 2003 CTS - 87, 89 or 91 octane - What is really needed?

From what I've read through automotive magazines, if your car is designed to run on one type of fuel, it won't damage the engine to run the other types because the computer will adjust accordingly....

RE: INSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR

It's the adhesive. I had my rear view fall off on one of my cars years ago. Sometimes its due to extreme heat that melts the adhesive. I bet the dealership would fix it easily, if not for free.

RE: 2007 SRX Suspension - Standard or Magnetic Ride Control

From people I know who have it, and from magazine articles of various cars, the Magentic Ride control seems to be worth the $$. I'd say, go for it!

RE: Excited about STS

Congrats! It's nice to hear some people choosing an American car, made by an American corporation, over a foreign one.

Enjoy! Make sure heed the break-in period though.

RE: PAINT

Try placing tape over the area you're going to drill so it doesn't pull the paint from the surrouding edges of the hole?

RE: ACETONE

I've heard of this, but never knew of anyone actually doing it. I don't believe it will dramatically increase your gas mileage on your car. It probably has an effect on gas mileage, but how much is...
