SET THEM STRAIGHT CADDY VS. RICERS
 
ok ok ok ok.... im always in this arugment honetly no bias which car is faster 1998 cadillac catera verus ne civic, integra all those ricers. well any caddy for that matter versus them please tell me ur opinion. include facts or whtever put your heart into it lol. Juss tell me wht u think of these punks and thier like 4 cylinder 50lb cars

in my opinon my catera could and has beat them in 1 on 1 striaghtaways

I am hoping to get the Allante into the low 6s upper 5s - but that is after a lot of mods - I am a realist - I bought the car because I love the looks - not because I can turn it into something that will get me numbers under 5...

I have always been rather surprised at what an old Supra will do - heck - its a Toyota. But, also surprised at how old Caddy STSs hold up - 6.4 ain't bad for hauling all that metal.

Watch what you race - lots of stock civics are in the upper 8s, lower 9s - but, how many do you see that haven't gotten new exhausts, cold air intakes, more...

yea i hear u fox. i know not to mess with a supra or gsx, cars like those. Hwoever i haaaate i mean haaate civics, integra, accord all those noside makers. And i prove it... i lower the 5% windows and tell them, whoever can make it to the exit on the highway. (I know to do it in moderate traffic since the Cat cant zip and zag... caddy that zigs wht a crock of crap)... and i beat them even before my intake. they had intake, catack, muffler all tht and im still faster. ( i love my vtec killer). I dunno i guess ima crazy d**k who disregards the normal traffic laws. oh and as for the new Si i beat it in a pakring lot drag. He had intake, dual JDM mufflers.... loud ass **** tht didnt move

thanks for the pure stats stomper and yea i juss proved it today.... ricers can only beat me on the handling and accel. Long strip, smooth, and i will destroy them. Also me and my friend juss got into an arguemnt. No im not trying to make my car into a ricer. Im trying to make it into a V-Series Catera ... which doubt will get the performance i want out of it but still gunna be the fastest Cat in NYC lol.

How bout this one.... Any Cadillac verus BMW, Benz, ACura, Lexus and Inifinity. Honestly Its a close call when it comes to luxury performance but match a decent driver behind a V or even a regualr lac and it could beat an AMG

Well, have you driven an AMG - usually they are in the low 5s - even into the 4s - and they are built for the autobahn, so not only do they start fast - they pull it all the way through to top speed - rock solid, rocket straight, I would leave them alone...

Lexus's however are fair game - even I enjoy dropping a Lexus now and then (but not near as much fun as taking 'stangs).

O_O.... (heart stops)... ok ladies and dudes.... i love my caddys.... but i love my stangs..... ur allante can whip a stang .... sad... i feel bad for stangs and i gotta give ur allante props........ u gotta be running minimum like 275 HP with Front wheel... what u got under the hood .... AMGs... thier ok the CLK is nice but people always get scared once they past 110mph... so thats when i take over (hence why i had a destroyed control arm, left front wheel bearing, and bumper and left door ... mostly chips and scratches a couple dents ****in NYC street ill keep it on the 95)

CatRacer - 345 to the front wheels, waiting to find out how another Allante owner likes his 'chip' - could take it to about 355.

I have had it up to 143 - it had a lot more in it, I didn't. The chip takes off the rev limiter - I would think it could get to 160+

Now, Stealth will chime in shortly - I have once again dished 'stangs - he has one - he foolishly thinks it can take the Allante - recently (not me driving - my mechanic had it out) it took a new 5.0 GT - probably more the surprise factor than anything - people don't think the Allante can light it up...

i'm suprised to see that the 95' STS get's better 0-60 and quarter time than the 95' ETC. They are both 300 HP but I would guess that the ETC is faster. How much HP can i get if i put a cold air intake kit on the ETC and make it so the air is routed from outside to the filter.

gotta love the awe effect when a cadillac beats a statistically faster car. Like when i beat an evo.. i unno how but i just shifted into fourth gear and i was doin 135 i unno how but i did... also when i was dueling a 2004 mustang v6 (cousin is ****in crazy she loves to race) my cousin was like huh? the owe facotr is so exhilerating ... then u look at ur gas level oh yea burn two gallons in half a mile i looooooooooooooooooooooooove cadillac v6

Fox's '93 Allante Amante "thinks" it can beat my '86 GT Fox car ..

mine was a 6 sec car out of the factory, hers will be a 6 second car after the mods,
but still its an automatic FWD running against a manual RWD that likes the taste of
116 octane racing fuel...

her '93's top speed is around 145mph,
mine will get to top gear right about then and go from there.

hey, they are both RED RAG TOPS ...
And her '93 WILL be the fastest Allante in town,
until someone comes along with a NOS hook up.

I had yet to see a Caddy that took my '06 GT Stang .. until the Caddy-V cars
hit the streets .. just look at the times for even the heavy STS-V .. These babes
will cross the finish line a full length ahead of my Stang ..
I am not considering twin turbos so I can again take any Caddy.
After all, aint that what a "V" Caddy is all about?

I like the CTS-V, but the STS-V melts me to the core. Never, NEVER EVER sit in one of those
unless you got serious cash .. I did .. sit in one .. I drool all the time with that memory.
Bad move on my part.

yea .... i need the acelrtation boost ****in rear wheel drive sucsk with tht... im dying to take off the traction control on the catera without ****ing up the abs. she wants to peel out and do burnouts but the traction control locks my wheels and really ****s up when i wanna show off in front of the ladies lol... ****s embarressing.... it is cool tho when it does me and ma boi burning out. His front wheel drive makes him move whiel im stationary and burnin my rubber.... real noice gunna do videos

i was just wondering about the times on exotic car site that were posted. are these times for older cars, ran recently in present time, or are the times based on the year when it was made. for example my ETC falls in the 95 ETC category of 6.6 0-60 and 14.4 quarter, is this time for 1995 or has it been recorded last year for example

ok ok ok ok ookaaaaaaaay .... my fellow enthusiasts.. again.... i have probalby the worst cadillac performancewise. at the most runnign 220 the least 210 with the intake (ram). explain to me, how i wiped... i mean wiiiiiiiiiiiiiped a 3.6L CTS. i mean bigger engine, better placement, more power, i mean he can easily take me. Even with the intake its not really enough. the car has 2 seconds on me... after the ram intake maybe 1.5 seconds.. still faster. i mean im not the crazy ... doin 80mph in city streets. proof its the driver. when ur in my turf i own u.

However nuthin beats the original CATERA SPORTS!!!!! SEDAN

there arent too many that can beat the torque of our V8s, but some get us on the mid-range, but they
drop off at the top as many of ours easily crack the 125 mph barriers and are only limited by the computer
limiters .. some of our 15 year old cars can and do 150 mph, some of our newer cars crack the 200 mph barrier.

it could be shocking to hear how many members, MODs and TECHs in this website have cracked the
120 barriers and even more, so I wont shock you. and yet, no one here, to my knowledge, has taken
our Detroit V8s to the top limit.

few, darn few can take a STS-V .. darn few.

on a track, most dont get much of a chance against our Detroit V8s .. a few do.
of course, we can always pull out the CTS-V and its see..ya !

There aint much out there, homebrew, rices or euros that can take the CTS-V,
unless you got around $300k to $1.2M to drop on the table.

not bad Cadillac .. not bad at all ...

never ever ever sit in a STS-V or a CTS-V unless you are ready to take it home.
trust me .. from one that "been there, done that" and regretted sitting in one just for kicks.
dont do it !

not to exceed $90k cars :
my favorite "small" cars, looks and power ? early Vette, CTS-V, Carrera, 350Z ragtop, MB SLK55.
my favorite "mid size" cars, looks and power? MK VII LSC, 4.5 Allante, Stang 5.0 GT ragtop
my favorite "full size" cars, looks and power? STS-V, Charger SRT8

one ricer sneaked in .. i been partial to the Z line since the 240Z days.

good point stealth. Being somewht in the street racing seen here in nyc its completly ricer. They beleive they are being unique my favorite line "I have the only eclipse with a dual intake." yet i see many eclipses with duals and body kit. They get the turbo blow off valve, nos, intake all that yet they dont move. I actually saw a unnessisarily hooked up integra claimed to have 500 horsepower. Funny thing is a CTS with the V8 in it pulls up to the line. Completly stock just had mufflers put on destroyed the integra. And he did have turbo, intake, fart can. Must of been runnning close to 280 at the most the CTS juss blew by him.

But is there a diffrence between 200 I4 horsepower or 200 V6 horsepower. I would think so. 4 cylinders is running two cylinders less and cant accelerate as quickly.

also the 350z i wouldnt firmly put it as a ricer simply because alone its fast. It competes with the stang and me im hardcore muscle car yet i do like it. And i doubt highly doubt an AMG and this new ISF could be V-series.

to stray a bit....What would make a normal CAdillac be able to don the V-Series badging.... horsepower, look, or performance compared to stock.
