H1 N1 shots, swine flu, hong kong flu, eggs and chickens

The federal government originally promised 120 million doses of swine flu vaccine by now. Only 13 million have come through.

Why ?

Production is running several weeks behind schedule, and health officials blame the pressure on pharmaceutical companies to crank it out along with the ordinary flu vaccine, and a slow and antiquated process that relies on millions of chicken eggs.

Expect the price of eggs at your supermarket to climb and climb ! ! !

Since April, swine flu has killed more than 800 people in the U.S., including 86 children.

Each year, an estimated 30,000 people die of various flu strains.

That brings about some questions:
is this flu season any different than past flu seasons?
are we being led by the media hype?
government propaganda?
health care reform propaganda?

Report from the CDC
Oct 21, 2009

About 1 in 5 U.S. children had a flu-like illness earlier this month and most of those cases likely were swine flu, according to a new government health survey. About 7 percent of surveyed adults said they'd had a flu-like illness, the survey found.

The information comes from a household survey of more than 14,000 adults done in the first 11 days of October. The adults were asked if they had a fever or other flu-like symptoms in the past week; a smaller number were asked about their children.

The survey was done by telephone and there was no medical confirmation of their reports. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the results Wednesday at a medical meeting in Atlanta.

For most people, swine flu has been a mild illness, perhaps very mild, CDC officials believe. There are cases without symptoms, "and maybe quite a few of those," said Nancy Cox, a CDC flu expert.

Millions of Americans have been infected, CDC officials estimate.

what is said is that it is a rare, one per million incident?
that would mean about 350 people in the US would get this?

all this to avoid being sick for a week?
