Reading Vin Numbers 2002 Eldorado
 

According one site there were 2638 2002 Cad Eldorado. at the end of the 2002 run, 3 batches of 532 (1596) were made, special additions (Red and White) that leaves 1042 others. I have a 2002 Silver Eldorado so I know it is not one of the limited additions its Vin Number is 1G6ET12992B104446.and the tag on the door indicated 12/01
IF digit 12-17 are production number how do I reconcile this?
