new (to me) 98' sls

hello all,

well, I needed a car that was a little more economical than my full size chevy truck... in looking around, I found a 98' sls that was in fantastic shape... I've now had the car a week, and at first inspection I was concerned about head gaskets, but paid accordingly. now I have found that after I changed the coolant, (dextrol and distilled water) I no longer loose fluid. other than that, I love this car!

you were losing fluids and the changing of coolant stopped it?

yes, I was losing some fluid, what I found was pure water in the system. Due to the temps that this engine runs at, the water would boil and the fluid was lost as steam. Once I changed the fluid out to a 50-50 mix, I haven't experianced any more loss of fluid.
