manual transmission - issues

I have been driving a 2009 Cadillac CTS 3.6 with manual transmission. Soon after I purchased the vehicle (brand new) I noticed a number of transmission related issues. 1, the car badly resonates in 4th and 6th gear at 1500 rpm and the noise appears to originate from the transmission (and can be felt on the stick too). 2., the clutch is noisy and burns even when used gently. I have reported these issues multiple times during the warranty period but Cadillac could not provide any remedy.

The 3rd problem I encountered relates to how the transmission and the engine works together. The clutch is extremely abrupt but the engine needs about a second to rev up even when the clutch is disengaged: the result is a quick dip in rpm followed by a jerk when the driver starts the car in 1st gear from stand still. Again, Cadillac offered no remedy despite that even the most experienced foremen who took the car for test drives could not drive the car without this jerking motion (it really takes a special skill and patience to drive this car in a smooth manner).

I have always driven manual transmission cars (for the past, well, 3 decades) including a 2003 Cadillac CTS, and never experienced anything like this before.

I wonder if any of you have experienced similar problems and if Cadillac will ever have a solution for them.

Robert
