stop engine temperature light

the stopengine temperature lightstays on all of the time. where could I locate the switch or whatever operates the lightto it ?
I have looked all over the engine and cannot find it. I did locate the coolant temperature sensor but this does not seem to control it.

RE: stop engine temperature light

The engine is not overheating because this light stays on even when the engine is cold and the key is off. How do I retrieve codes ?????
Thanks for your response,
Jim

RE: stop engine temperature light

another followup -
I quess that it is not really the stop engine light. It says stop temperature.
I just thought I would clarify the light that I am talking about.
