RE: Population Poll!!
I personally drive a 1997 Seville SLS! Bought it with 84k now it's pushing 92k. I bought three-four months ago and it is the best car I have ever driven. It actually saved my life at least twice. I got some pictures in the Gallery so go and check it out!!!

RE: Population Poll!!
While I've met Cad fans in person and online via eBay for example. Seems just returning here that the forum should be more populated. Cadillac is having some success as of late, being the Escalade hip-hop community's darling, the CTS-V's track racing success and controversy as well (weight issue) Tim Allen Design's 400HP Caddy proto projects, PS2 games featuring Caddys as well. Led Zeppelin contributing music to the Break Through ads, now seeing Caddy having something to Zing about!
I'm a bit old school, but also being of the younger set, would love to see people apply hot rodding practices to luxury cars like Caddy as they did for Lincoln.
One time a few years back, I recall a custom application of two Northstar V8s in a streched E or K car that worked in conjunction to produce a mean outlandish road monster. Unfortunately, I can't even recall a source for that, but I'd swear it was something I did read about. Things like that get my blood pumping.
My friend has a saying, all stock can use some mods. You can always add something to the factory package

I would like to say,in this forum I see problems with our cadillacs, well I purchased an extended warranty for my 95 Eldorado. These cars can be expensive, especially the northstar motors that have the head problems. Now if I have a problem it only cost $50.00 to have any thing done.Example is ,My alternator went out, cost $360.oo only cost me $50.00.Extended warranty is very good.

I've driven new cadillacs since 1993 I've owned Eldo's, Seville's I now own and 04 STS and a 03 SLS. What I've noticed over the years is that the cadillac quality has gone down, yet their warranties have always stayed the same. My guess is that GM philosophy must be pay more, and give customers that same tired warranty. Well I think my next car will be a Mercedes, at least they run past their warranty without any added expense. I'm now being told that my 03 SLS and my 04 STS, burn 1 quart of oil every 3,000 miles. I wonder what the GM engineers were thinking when they built the Northstar engine, overcharge cadillac owners and the burden them with an oil burning motor?. Case in point, the gentlemen with the 05 CTSV he's blows his rearend with 5,000 miles on the car, and as usual Gm is looking for a way out could it be an engineering defect? You can bet if it is Gm will never tell you.

RE: Population Poll!!
I am on my 5th used Cadillac. I doubt that I will ever buy a new one. Now that they don't change the syle or features very much with every new model year it doesn't make sense to feel bad that you don't have the current model. I average over 170,000 miles on each one and have usually put over 100,000 on myself. When I buy after the depreciation has taken most of its toll on the price, the value is still ther so far as remaining miles per dollar spent. In fact, I think used Cadillacs may be one of the least expensive cars to drive. The onboard computers have kept the maintenance low and performance high. The standard feaures don't depreciate or become obsolete for several years.
My one suggestion: Be the second owner! not the first (it's too expensive per mile) or the third. (First owners are usually more responsible and conservative drivers because they are old enough to afford a new one and old enough to have changed their driving styles from impatient and impulsive manners. But second owners, if ahead of you, may be younger "finally can afford" types who are still in the "show off/ fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants" mode and the car takes the beating.) (Caterra's don't correspond with this logic.)
Let's have a poll to see if my theory is close. If you have ever purchased a new Cadillac what was your age at that time and what model did you buy? If you have ever bought a used Cadillac, how old were you and what model did you buy?

RE: Population Poll!!
my first car that i purchased myself was an '01 cadillac deville dts...it's been almost a year and i love her. i even gave her a name...silvia, b/c she is that silver pewter, chrome wheels, tinted windows, splash guards...the only up grade i have left to make is a new grille from the '05 ltd. edition deville..has anyone seen that grille w/ the oversized wreath and chrome plated...it looks sweet....i love my caddy and have fallen in love with the entire line...i would say that the electronics can be a pain in the but, but overall, worth it...never buy new though!!!!

I am from South East Ohio and I own a '92 Cadillac Coupe Deville. I love this car. I have owned it for about 2 months. The car is in mint condition, except the A/C doesn't work. Going to remedy that real soon. Awesome car!
