Oil leak underneath passenger seat plus sensor errors
Ok i have an oily substance underneath my passenger seat in my 98 Catera. Anyone know what that could be. Also my radiator fluid light goes on even when its full any ideas?

well it is that golden brown color of oil and is soaked in the mat. The fluid im hoping a bad sensor cause im fulll with fluid

Don't want to sound dumb or igrnorant because I don't know Cateras but maybe the leak under the seat is from the pumps on the power seats. I know my car has 3 underneath my seat. Maybe there are other lines that run around there. You're going to have to do some testing and forensics ... CSI in the b**ch:)

hmm, ok then so im guessing nothing major... but could the elctrics cause a fire if they got wet and caused a spark.

Outside of hollywood I'd guess not lol. You can't be too sure though, it always better not to have oil laying around in your car like that.

Heater core leaking. The oily substance is coolant. The light is on because the radiator is low. With the car cold verify fluid in radiator not recovery tank. With a major leak, the radiator produces no vacuum to draw from the recovery tank so it stays full. Start the car, turn on defrosters and ck for steam coming from the vents onto the windshield. Also ck for oily residue on inside of windshield.
