Need help please! Blowing fuses when I turn on head lights

Hello we just bought this Cadi Fleetwood 1992 good shape, 60k miles. This car has been garage kept and not driven for 4 years. Everything else is fine.

When I put the parking lights on the fuse blows, the headlights still come on and stop lights and directionals still work. Running lights and parking lights do not work.

Thanks for the help!

Put circuit breaker in place of fuse, turn on lights. You may has enough time to see whats not lighting. If it a dead short you may need someone to help you. Look there for chaffed or pinched wire. Wrong type bulb maybe.

Thanks SlowRoll

Heres an update: I took all the lights out of the car, running, parking, signals and so on for this issue. I put a 20 amp fuse in with no bulbs, pulled the light switch and it blew instantly and got very hot. I tried a 30amp fuse, pulled the switch again and no spark, not hot and no blown fuse, seemed to be ok... put the 20 back in and it seemed to be ok...Started putting the lights back in one at a time and they all worked! and I mean all with the 20 amp. All of a sudden it's all working fine?????? How did that happen???

Also on the passenger side, under the battery we found this thing? in the picture. It's totally trashed! What the hell is it? Do I need it? Cars running fine so far without it.... This car was sitting for a long time and it looks like the old battery leaked down and killed this thing.

Any help? I appreciate any input! Great forum so far!

Thanks
George

Lights - possibly corrosion on switch contacts, and cycling switch and the extra amps some how cleaned it enough off to work. Hope to know what module was tommorrow.
