Cadillac started on fire
My step-dad is 80 years old. He is driving to the store and suddenly, his car starts smoking.
He stops the car, isn't sure what to do...barely gets out of the car...the whole engine is on fire. The police and fireman were called in. Thank God my step-dad was okay. I couldn't figure out what could have happened to the car...and then I did research and thought maybe it was a recall part...it was. It was confirmed that the car started on fire from a part that should have been fixed in 2004. GM never sent him a card in the mail stating of the recall. He bought the 1995 Caddy in April 07. He loved that car. Needless to say, GM of course was contacted, and only want to offer him $2250 for a car that was still in mint condition. Only 94k miles on it. They are giving him 24hours to take the offer or leave it. They said the case would be closed. I think they should offer the amount that he had paid for the car or fix it. They declined...needless to say Joe Garcia and his supervisor aren't the nicest people to deal with. They are down-right nasty to the consumer who has problems... No wonder GM value depreciates so quickly. Their ethics are horrid. |

I interested to know what exacty happened,and was the car taken to a dealer for repair?
