Alternator problems
 

I have a 1997 Deville concours, and the serpentine belt broke, when replaced the alternator would not charge, replaced the alt with a rebuilt one and it stopped charging , replaced with another rebuilt and after driving for an hour and then sitting for three days will not charge, is my car killing alternators somehow?

Time to investigate the wire harness. This may include the onboard computer, as GM has moved to having the voltage regulator integrated into the computer on some applications (which is needlessly complex, but no-one asked my permission.)

Hi: got it fixed, found a broken wire going to the voltmeter, seems fine now, but going to have full scan done before driving too far!!
