'96 DeVille Won't Start
OK Someone Please HELP!!!!
My'96 Deville started about 11 months ago, everyso often it would not crank when you turn the key. I hear a few relays kick, and the fuel pump cycle, but no crank. Battery is good, and so are cables, and everything else works.
If I cycled the key on and off, it would start after a few tries, and then no problems for a week or so, sometimes longer.
No I havent driven the car in 4 months, and wanted to move it in the shop. UH OH...Now after allmost 200 key cycles, I can not get any crank at all. Battery is fully charged (it was on trickle charge while sitting).
I hope someone has an idea what the problem might be. All the relays seem to be fine, and the cycle when i turn to crank, but starter refuses to turn.

RE: '96 DeVille Won't Start
No Codes...."S" terminal...This is a Northstar with an internal starter...Where would I find the "S" terminal?
I'm leaning more towards something with the key cylnder...is that a good chance? How do I check?
PS: No key will make it crank and we have 3 so I have ruled out a bad key or pellet.

ON THE STARTER!
ON THE STARTER!
but are you suggesting tearing of the intake and all other items associated with getting to the starter just to check the "S" terminal?
IMHO..I think there is a much better diagnostic then to tear the engine down in hopes there is a problem to be found...what your suggesting is kind of like telling someone to take off the head to see in inserts were ever put into the head bolt threads in the block.

You asked, I answered. You don't like the answer,Oh well. If looked at your car.You would have found jumper harness connector for starter, at front of rear cam cover. Buy a FSM.
