93 60 special runs cold and carbons up
 

Car runs so cold at 40-50 ambient it carbons up and requires occasional speed run in second. Settings: Climate control auto, 75 deg. Local driving, stop & go, 45 mph max., after 15 min. drive engine top in carburator area and radiator cap are only warm (about 110). Early symptoms include: starting not so "crisp", indicated fuel rate up about 20%, very strong acceleration through first and second. Later symptom is indication of high engine oil pressure at oil cooler fittings (leaks), indications of dilution and carbon on dipstick and lower level indication.

All returns to normal after about 20 min. run in 2nd at 60 mph.

Dropping Climate control temp. to 60 deg. allows AC to run. Then, radiator runs hot, upper engine areas are hot to touch and fuel use seems normal - actually better than with AC off.

Found ans! Car operating in open loop unless steps taken to add heat per above par. 2 & 3. Car was originally used in desert area. Can this be adjusted ? Computer program ??
