2003 cts windows will not roll up or down
i have a 2003 cts and a few weeks ago my windows just quit working. none of the windows will roll up or down using any of the window buttons.the power door module circuit breaker under the rear passenger seat fuse block is getting very hot and shutting off.i have replaced this breaker to no avail. if you leave the breaker out and let it cool off and put it back in the windows will work for a few seconds. any ideas on what could be causing this breaker to overheat and shut off?
Thanks for any help you can provide. |

Which window are you trying to operate when breaker heats up?

RE: 2003 cts windows will not roll up or down
the breaker heats up even when i do not try to operate the windows. none of the window controls work on any of the doors. i'm thinkin something else must be tied in with the breaker and i'm getting a short somewhere but who knows where.

Shorts unfortunately are hard to find under normal means. Were any repairs done to car prior to this concern, no matter how minor.

the only recent repair was i had to replace a tag light but the windows were messed up well before i did that.

Was car wrecked ever? Chasing shorts can be tough, I knew a tech who would bypass fuse and look for smoke to find shorts, not the best way but it works.
