2000 deville dts fuel gage
Has anyone heard of or solve the problem of the fuel gage not reading correctly when the fuel level gets below half? I replaced the sending unit about 2 years ago with a used one and it worked for about 30 seconds. Now have 103k miles on the car.

got same with 99sts.... have learned to live with it using trip meter, and dic "gallons used" ...........works quit well. anyway to answer your question, one would think a NEW sending unit might be in order..... good luck

I have the same problem with my 2000 ETC, it started around 98,000 miles. The tripometer is my friend.

Sounds like a design flaw. Time for a recall.

Car being 10 yrs old ... get a new gas cap. hey, who knows. In CA this is now tested by the DMV SMOG tech, mandatory. have the charcoal canister checked. Again, CA DMV .......... I believe that both of those can make for faulty readings, hydrocarbons emissions. . |
yea in Pa. that is the only thing they check (gas cap) for $30.00 a year. charcoal canister??? now thats an idea. what would one check there??
