2000 Deville DHS Start problem

Hello,
I have a 2000 Cadillac Deville DHS. Recently when I try to start the car I have to give gas in order to have the car start. A couple of times over the past month The car turned off by itself while stopped at a red light. Today I changed the fuel filter. The problem seems to be a bit better but still persists. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the Crankshaft position sensors. They are a common problem and have been redesigned sevearl times for the exact problem you are describing. They are on the front of the motor behind the front motor mount. Might be easier to do if you had access to a lift. There are 2 o them A black one and usually a grey one. they are held in with a single 10mm bolt. you and reach it wih a long 1/4 in extension swivel and a 10mm socket....good luck
