Just purchased a 1976 Eldorado Convertible with 15k miles. It has a few issues:
1. The electronic trunk closer appears to have broken. Can you just buy the motor and replace it instead of the entire locking system? Let me know where to find it if you can.
2. Also the top needs help closing, does this mean the motor to close the top is on its last legs and needs to be replaced? Any help on this would be appreciated.
3. The emblem on the hood wobbles. Can it be fixed with a new spring?

Kevin: Based on what's available out there, may have to replace whole unit.
Think I noticed that RockAuto has the truck lid closer units. If not, just Google the subject and you should find sources. Another option, if just the electric motor is defective, take it to a local/regional electric motor repair shop. Have one old-time shop here that sometimes works wonders.

Can't really help you with your other two questions. never had a conv top car but if its a hydraulic system, could it have a leak somewhere or just be low on fluid ? Need a manual.
