1976 Cadillac Eldorado-Trunk Issue
I have a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. Been sitting for years. Anyways, The button in the glove box wont ooen the trunk, and I have no trunk key
ANyone know of a way to open the trunk? Thanks |
Trunk key should be the same as door key. If you have a door key, but it won't open trunk, you may have to drill out lock cylinder. A good 3/8 drill bit should work. Once through lock a 10 inch long flat blade screw driver should release lock. If you don't have a working door key. Take a door lock cylinder out and take it to locksmith and have a key made from the coding. It may open trunk, if you will need to drill cylinder. You could also try to jump 12v to/across switch and see if trunk will pop.

Do you have the battery hooked up? If so, my next step would be to pull the glove box to make sure the two wires for the button are connected.
