RE: 1970 CADILLAC DEVILLE BRAKING PROBLEM

Hey there G: Could be a number of things with your brakes. If the brakes have been over heated at some point they could out of round or warped. But with a car this old the suspension parts could have a lot of play in them and result in vibration during heavy braking. Best to jack up a front tire and try working it back and forth to see if and where the play originates, ball joints, control arms, etc. Then pull the tire off and have a look at the condition of brake components. Look for a blue tone on the metal surfaces as a sign of over heating. If it's just brake parts you could probably do yourself but suspension parts, not. Good luck.
