1962 coup deville Antenna / arial wont go down!

I have a 1962 coup deville for a short time and whilst playing with the antenna push button was suprised to find it rising out of its hiding place! ( I understand that they dont usually work!?)
Unfortunatley I cant get it to lower by pressing the same radio button and wondered if there is a switch that I dont know about to reverse the motor? It seems to wind the motor at full speed now that its fully up?
I did find reference to a tag which said that a switch must be used to lower the antenna but I cant see it!
Hope you can help as i cant seem to find an owners manual anywhere!?

Pull the knob!!!

Just realised with help from Mika that the loose knobs on the radio were not allowing me to pull the arial knob out to lower it!!....Simple really!

i dont know how to decode the paint, but the VIN tag should be on the left corner of the dash, almost hidden and can be seen from outside next to the edge of the glass.
