Theft deterent modules don't go bad very often and you have a 1 in 17 chance of getting a good one that will work in your car. What makes you think module is bad?

I am not sure if the deterrant module is bad. I took the car to a guy I know who is good with cars and he told me the theft deterrant module was bad. All I know is that he did some work on in the sterring collom pryer to that and noticed that the two little wire that run to the ingition switch were broke. He said the wires were for the anti theft and that the car should not even start. I drove the car home that day and later when I tried to start it it whouldn't evern turn ove. The computer told me that starting was disabled ans told me to wait three minute and then start the car. When I did that it just kept repeating the same thing. The guy came and towed it to his shop and later called me and told me it was the deterrant module. I don't know what he did to it to get it running but now none of the other funtions work

Broken wire(s) is why car won't start, you need ignition lock cylinder not module. Ignition cylinder and new key will run about 100.00 and labor 1.0-1.5 hours. You will need to go to dealer to get old key read and new key made. It sounds like your friend should be able to repair.
