REMEMBER HOW YOUR HOMETOWN USED TO LOOK??
Click on any state and then the county and you'll see a collection of
Penny Postcards with scenes of the past from that county.[/align] [blockquote]
When you click to a state, make sure you go further - for example, you can select WISCONSIN, then click on DOUGLAS County, then on a specific post card. If you like history you will love this site.[/blockquote] [blockquote] http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/special/ppcs/ppcs.html [/blockquote]

Wow it hasn't changed.. Guess that's what you get when you live in a very very small town. Cars are different and post office (brick building) has turned into where you pay your water bill. This street (cherry st) stays historically sound though. Kind of cool to have the old with the new.

Found one from the turn of the Century for my hometown. This amusement park is long gone although Hanlan's Point still exists. It is named for a wealthy family that settle there. The most famous member is Ned Hanlan, a Canadian Icon. Hanlan was a world class oarsmen. Hanlan's outstanding victories date from the Centennial Regatta Philadelphia Sept.6.1876 when he defeated all competitors including many of the greatest oarsmen of the world. Victor in three hundred consecutive races his achievements are all the more worthy of commemoration by his display of that spirit of true sportsmanship which is held in honour in all fields of sport.
